Southgate Doubles Salary Till 2024 After New England Contract

Gareth Southgate has signed a new two-year contract extension as England manager which puts him at the club till 2024.

The new contract doubled his annual wages to around £6M extending beyond the 2022 World cup. The Three Lions have already secured a spot in the Qatar World cup after scoring at will in their last two world cup qualifying matches.

Southgate has been at the helm of the England National team since September 2016 but his time with the national team extends to August 2013 when the 51-year old former English player was coach of England Under-21.

Southgate will now lead England into the World Cup in 12 months’ time and, provided they qualify, the Euro 2024 finals in Germany. His team’s most immediate assignments will be a pair of friendlies in March, followed in June by four Nations League games.
