'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Swings Past 'Avatar' Domestically

SpiderMan: No Way Home has ensnared Avatar in its webs as the superhero movie now ranks as the number three film of all time at the domestic box office.

The Sony and Marvel superhero blockbuster passed Avatar to rank as the third most successful domestic film of all time, not adjusted for inflation though, according to recent reports.

Spider-Man: No Way Home now has a domestic total of $761 million while Avatar only earned $760.5 million, and that figure includes re-releases. 

Globally, however, Avatar remains the number one film of all time worldwide after earning $2.84 billion throughout the course of its box office run. Avengers: Endgame follows in second place after earning $2.79 billion.

This is not to say No Way Home hasn't performed well at the global box office as it has grossed a total of $1.8 billion, earning the number six slot on the list of top-grossing movies worldwide.
