The President noted that, his refusal was based on the dangers this might expose the students, adding he  did not want to disrupt the peace of the state.

He further stated that, the Senate had carried out the suspension based on claims of being too lenient to the school management.

The statement below, "I received the news of a kangaroo suspension by some section of the Senators without following laid down procedures and the provisions of the constitutions.

"However for the benefit of doubt, I wish to clear to air.

"Some Senate members had called me on several occasions regarding the Palliatives Stampede, and requested that we organize a protest against Nasarawa State Government and the school management. I outrightly declined and refused to be a part of it because of the security implications.

"The Senate members have shown on several occasions due to personal interest and other ulterior motives and made it clear that they can not work with me as a Muslim who has been lenient with the school management.

"The aforementioned reasons are what led to this kangaroo suspension, which is null and void.

"I want make it categorically clear that I will not be part of any protest that will undermine the peace, tranquility and the security of our dear State and university, especially at time our country is going through a lot of challenges. However we will continue to channel our concerns and grievances via dialogue with the appropriates authorities.

"In addition, I was not aware of any emergency sitting that held yesterday leading to this so called suspension. I was also not called on to appear before any committee for investigation.

"Most of the senators are not aware of the joint meeting, rather few were invited and took decisions which is unconstitutional.

"I want to call on our students to disregard this so called suspension and be law abiding students as we continue to provide leadership and welfare for the students."
