Star-Studded First Trailer For Netflix's Original Nigerian Series 'Blood Sisters'

Star-Studded First Trailer For Netflix's Original Nigerian S

Netflix has released the first trailer for the star-studded forthcoming series Blood Sisters.

With EbonyLife Studios producing and directors Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang at the reins, Blood Sisters is a four-part thriller series set to arrive on the streaming platform on May 5, 2022.

The show is Mo Abudu's latest collaboration with the streaming giant as part of her multi-title deal with the brand.

Boasting an impressive cast of some of Nollywood's best, Blood Sisters centers on a typical Nigerian wedding where the bride accidentally commits murder.

According to Variety, the series tackles intra-family relationships, physical and substance abuse, love, commitment, and relationships.

"Blood Sisters is “an ode to life in the city [of Lagos] as it brilliantly juxtaposes the various socio-economic divides in Africa’s most famous commercial and social hub", the official description reads.

Speaking on the show, Abudu stated: "Blood Sisters is a crime thriller, which is a new genre for us, so the prospect was challenging but very exciting!

"It was also a particularly unique and intense experience as we shot during the pandemic, but we remained committed to the vision we share with Netflix — to tell authentic and exciting African stories with superb production values."
