STI Ministry Pledges Collaboration With ICPC On Civil Service Rules

The Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), said it would partner with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission  (ICPC) to implement rules and regulations of the Civil Service.

Monilola Udoh, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, said this when officials of the ICPC on the development of ethics and compliance scorecard and Anti-Corruption Transparency Unit paid her a visit in Abuja on Monday.

The Permanent Secretary said the collaboration would facilitate the development and growth of the nation.

She observed that the Civil Service drives the policies and activities of government for socio-economic progress.

She called for more staff members' welfare and motivation to encourage civil servants on prompt service delivery.

Earlier, Dio Emmanuel, Assistant Commissioner of ICPC, said the visit was for an integrity check and to score the Permanent Secretary in line with the rules of the ICPC.

Emmanuel said that the ministry’s scorecard over time was high and that there was substantial compliance by the ministry.

He disclosed that his unit was institutionalised in organisations to ensure consistent study and enlightenment of workers.
