‘Stop Comparing Me To Anyone, I Don't Follow Rules’ — Adekunle Gold

Afrofusion artiste Adekunle Gold has asked fans to desist from comparing him to anyone as there is no one like him.

In a series of tweets, the ‘High’ singer addressed the criticism he got when he released the 2018 track ‘Call On Me’ which is off his album ‘About 30’.

According to him, most of the people who bashed him for the album didn’t even listen to it, only to turn around and called it his best work.

“Opelope Stubborn and coconut head, I for don listen to some of una,” he tweeted.

“I remember when I released “Call on Me”. The criticism I got was crazy.

“I dropped About 30, most of you didn’t even listen for yourself but you bashed it (only to come back around to say it’s my best work yet).

“Just admit that I am audacious af and i don’t follow y’alls rules.

“I dance to my own tune and thank God I have the best fans who were ready to grow with me, allow me be me.”

He also spoke about his most recent project, ‘Catch Me If You Can’, which he said some people trolled him for releasing.

Despite the criticism, the album has been his most successful project yet, according to the singer.

“Catch me if you can” some of you trolled me for releasing that project. CMIYC is my most successful project yet and I’m grateful that It came out exactly how I wanted it sonically and my fans love it.

“Now get ready for what’s coming this year. I dey come! Tio Tequila Time.”

Adekunle Gold concluded his tweetstorm by asking his fans to stop comparing him to other musicians and saying that he is ‘cut from a different cloth’.

He thanked his fans for their support and promised that there is more to come from him in the future.
