Subsidy Removal: Nasarawa Government Distributes Palliatives

Government of Nasarawa State on Sunday distributed rice and maize to second batch of beneficiaries in Ashige ward of Lafia LGA as palliatives designed to cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal. 

The distribution was headed by the Councilor and Speaker of Lafia Legislative Arm, Hon. Philibus Attah. 

"To ensure that the palliative get to those who really need it, names were collated from the ward by leaders of the community who are residents and know the area.

"We ensure the process was transparent so that, the beneficiaries will see that, they were not short changed," he said. 

Beneficiaries drawn across the Electoral Ward also received cash package as part of the present administration's immediate and short-term interventions. 

The Federal Government had announced a ₦5 billion palliative for each state of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to cushion the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
