At least 16 people have reportedly died from the auto crash.
A passenger bus slammed into a parked truck on a highway in the Sudanese city of Omdurman early on Tuesday, killing at least 16 people.
According to a police statement, the bus went off the road and collided with a parked vehicle in Omdurman, the capital's twin city.
It was revealed that at least 19 persons were hurt in the crash.
According to authorities, the bus was on its way to Khartoum from Fasher, the provincial headquarters of the North Darfur region.
Ambulances hurried to the site to transport the injured to Omdurman Hospital, while the deceased was sent to the mortuary.
The cause of the bus swerve was not immediately known.
Traffic accidents are widespread in Sudan, and they are frequently the consequence of poorly maintained roads and lax enforcement of traffic regulations.
Every year, thousands of individuals are killed in car accidents.
