Sudan: Military Leader Heads To Egypt To Meet President Sisi

Sudan's Military Leader Heads To Egypt To Meet President Sisi

According to a military announcement, Sudan's army chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, travelled to Egypt on Tuesday to meet with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Burhan is leaving Sudan for the first time since the fighting began with the paramilitary Rapid Response Forces on April 15.

As the war between the two generals in Sudan rages on, tens of thousands of civilians have fled, and the United Nations has warned of a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, which could spill over into neighbouring countries.

Their fight for supremacy has put neighbouring nations under pressure. Some of these states are under military rule, an unstable security situation and economic trouble — or a combination thereof.

Electricity and water levels have been severely damaged during the cause of the war.

There have been reports of outbreaks of diseases because many residents have had no choice but to use unsafe drinking water from the river, the Nile and other sources.

At the same time, food and fuel prices have skyrocketed and the situation has been made worse for many people by the fact that they cannot even access money to get the necessary commodities essential for their survival.
