Suicide Bombing: 6 Killed In Attack On Congolese Restaurant

At least six people, including the bomber were killed in a suicide bomb attack that  striked a restaurant in Beni city near the DRC’s eastern border with Uganda.

Officials had blamed the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) for the attack that happened yesterday. The ADF is one of the deadliest armed groups in the region.

The regional governor’s spokesman, General Ekenge Sylvain, said in a statement that the suicide bomber activated the bomb at the entrance of the restaurant. 6 people died and 14 were injured in the incident.

Among the dead were two children, as well as two local officials. In the restaurant was bubbly with over 30 people celebrating Christmas when the bomb went off.
