Sultan Tasks Muslim Lawyers On Financial Independence

Sultan of Sokoto, Sa'ad Abubakar III

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Sa'ad Abubakar III has tasked Muslim Lawyers to find ways of generating money not to rely on support to carry out their activities.

The Sultan gave the advice while addressing the executives and members of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria who paid him a courtesy visit on Thursday in Sokoto.

He said that it is their obligation as Muslim to lead by example in carrying out their duties.

“Our religion is always pointing out the need to be patient and dedicated toward carrying out our daily activities.

“Islam demands all of you to lead by example in your behaviour and working career".

“So, you must always do the best you can do, in order not to allow other people to be calling your names that you are Muslims but see how they behave,” he said.

The Sultan also commended the association for strengthening the bond of their relationship and brotherhood, urging them to sustain the tempo.

Earlier, the National President of the association, Dr Kazeem Olaniyam, decried that the association was being under utilised by the NSCIA and pleaded with the Sultan to ensure their involvement in its activities.

“We are always ready for your call and invitation to carryout any assignment in the cause for Islam,” he said

Olaniyam appreciated the Sultan’s commitment to peace and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
