Eight aides of Sunday Adeyemo, the Yoruba Nation independence campainer popularly known as Sunday Igboho have been released to their lawyers, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
Igboho's aides were reportedly released on Monday to their lawyer after the Department of State Security (DSS) failed to comply with a court ruling on the matter.
Twelve members of Igboho's aides were arrested on July 2, after the DSS raided his Soka, Ibadan house in a midnight operation. The captured men and one woman were taken to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) where they appeared in court 10 days after their arrest.
Lawyer to the aides Olajengbesi had issued an ultimatum to the DSS to release the detained aides, who were arrested at the home of the Yoruba agitator.
Allnews is yet to independently confirm the release from the lawyer as of the time the story is filed.
