Sunday Morning Accident Claims One Life In Ogun

A reported fatal road accident early on Sunday morning has claimed one life on the Sagamu/Ijebu-Ode expressway, Ikenne local government area of Ogun State.

According to eyewitness accounts, the crash occurred at about 300 meters to Delabo junction, Ikenne, outbound Sagamu.

Ogun TRACE Corps disclosed that there was a collision between an unmarked motorcycle, a run-away vehicle and a Benz Low-bed truck with registration number, T-5333 LA.

Also, an on-the-spot assessment by the police noted that the crash was caused by a yet-to-be-identified vehicle that ran over the motorcyclist.

"The Benz truck, unfortunately, broke down at the scene of the crash after the accident occurred, according to the driver of the benz truck.

"Of the two male occupants of the motorcycle, one male sustained injuries while the other make died as a result of the crash."

The injured was rescued by the Ogun TRACE Corps and the personnel of the Ogun State Police Command and taken to the Onabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu.

The dead was also deposited at the hospital morgue.

The motorcycle recovered was taken into Police custody while the broken down Benz truck was also towed to Police MTD Ikenne Divisional Police Command.
