Super Falcons Climb Higher In Latest FIFA Ranking

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have climbed up to the 42nd position in the first FIFA women’s ranking for the year 2023.

FIFA released the latest women's ranking on Friday, with USA still in first position and Australia returning to "the top ten in the penultimate FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking before the country co-hosts the FIFA Women’s World Cup."

While the nine-time African champions moved up from the 45th position based on the previous ranking released in December 2022, they also maintained their position as number one in Africa.

The Falcons had three outings prior to the release of the latest FIFA ranking.

They lost twice but managed to win the last match they played in February when they participated in a four-nation invitational tournament dubbed Revelation Cup.

Come April, they are expected to regroup to face Haiti and New Zealand in Antalya, Turkey as part of preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup™.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be published on June 9, 2023.
