Super Falcons Ease Past New Zealand In Friendly

Nigeria's Super Falcons eased past 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup co-host New Zealand in Tuesday's friendly encounter in Turkey.

The Falcons won the match 3-0 at the Mardan Sports Complex, Antalya to extend their winning streak to three games.

The breakthrough came in the 36th minute as captain Onome Ebi beat New Zealand goalie Victoria Esson with a header from Toni Payne's corner kick.

Ebi's goal ensured that the Falcons took the lead into the break.

The lead was then doubled four minutes after the start of the second half as Jennifer Onyi Echegini had an easy tap in.

With the Falcons coasting to victory, the Ferns in search of a goal launched a dangerous attack but Randy Waldrum's side escaped another onslaught.

Desire Oparanozie completed the rout in stoppage time to wrap up the Falcons' international duties in style.

Waldrum was spotted on camera smiling at full-time having picked up two wins in Turkey which is a morale booster for the Falcons ahead of the World Cup in July.
