Supreme Court Dismisses Amaechi's Appeal In Ongoing Fraud Ca

Rotimi Amaechi's appeal against the decision of Governor Nyesom Wike to probe his eight-year tenure in Rivers State has been dismissed by the Supreme Court.

The verdict was given on Friday and the apex court held that the former governor's appeal lacked merit, awarding the sum of N1 million against him.

The seven-man panel set up by Governor Wike is to probe transactions estimated at about N96 billion carried out by the Rivers State Government under Amaechi's administration.

Wike claims the former governor fraudulently sold some assets belonging to the state during his eight-year tenure.
