Suspected diabolical internet fraudsters, popularly called Yahoo Boys, have ‘used’ a lady and dumped her body by the roadside in Akure, Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria.
The corpse of the lady was discovered on Tuesday morning by locals at Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Oke-Ijebu in the state capital.
This reporter sighted pictures and video of the lady’s lifeless body, with grievers surrounding her.
Yahooplus, which the lady is most likely a victim of, is a spiritual dimension to cybercrime in Nigeria. It is in the desperation of some youths to join the ranks of scores of their compatriots who have been making millions of dollars. They use traditional charms and mystical powers to charm potential victims.
Many of them may be undergraduates or college dropouts whose distinct lifestyles of luxurious cars, wealth and ostentation is the envy of many of their age-mates.
