Suspended Ido LG Chairman Assaults Ibadan Lawyer

The Better Representation Solidarity Group has condemned the action of Sheriff Adeojo, the embattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for physically assaulting a lawyer, Tolu Fowode at a lounge in Ibadan over the weekend.

In a press statement signed by Ade Ajayi, BRSG Publicity Secretary on Sunday, it was revealed that Fowode was attacked without provocation.

Also, Adeojo is a recently suspended Chairman of Ido local government council area of Oyo State and one of the sons of Chief Yekini Adeojo, a statesman.

He was suspended indefinitely by members of Ido Assembly due to gross lack of accountability and poor infrastructure management across the 10 wards that made up the local government overnment area.

"We were just having a conversation in the VIP area, when this guy just came over to Barr. Tolu, acting pretty violent.

"Before we knew it, he got physical and although shocked, we still tried to hold him to no avail," an eyewitness recounted.

"This guy was launching and landing several blows on Barrister Fowode.

"We were able to restrain him at the point he reached for the bottle.

​​​​​"Even though he seemed a bit drunk, it still does not excuse his behaviour at all.

"At least he was sober enough to pick his victim. I'm just disappointed please," confessed another eyewitness.

A staff of 530 Lounge, Oluyole, Ibadan, where the incident occurred stated that immediately it occured, they swung into action to stop the assailant before further damage clund be done.

He also stated that after the incident on Thursday, September 22, 2022, the management of the lounge had apologised to Fowode and assured their customers of their safety when they patronised the Lounge.

While Fowode it was gathered is recuperating well, Adeojo was not reachable to make a comment at the time of this report.

The leadership of the PDP in the state are also according to reports worried that the embattled Sheriff Adeojo is in the news for the wrong reasons.
