The Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, Nicolas Lang, has visited the governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum at the state's Government House in Maiduguri.
The Swiss ambassador who visited on Wednesday congratulated the governor on his re-election.
This was contained in a statement by Malam Isa Gusau, spokesperson to the governor.
The ambassador also oversees Chad, Niger and the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS).
While congratulating the governor, Lang said: “Let me congratulate you on your re-election for the second term of office.
“It is great pleasure to be here, received by His Excellency the recently re-elected governor.
"It is important for Switzerland which has been active in the region to be fully in line with the governor and his team.
"We seize this opportunity to come here as early as possible."
Responding, Governor Zulum appreciated the ambassador for the visit while assuring him of improvements to better the lives of the people.
