Tallen Demands Better Representation Of The Girl-Child

Pauline-Tallen, Minister of Women Affairs

The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen has charged Nigerians on better representation of the girl-child as well as pay more attention to education as girls are associated with a high percentage of success in developmental processes in any society.

Tallen gave the charge on Saturday while addressing journalists on the sidelines of the Federal Government Girls’ College, Bida Old Girls Association (FEGGICOBIDOGA) first Global Reunion and 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

She said girls are a very important part of society and so need to be empowered, especially through education.

According to her, girls occupy a peculiar place in the home and play an important role in the society at large.

This position, she said, buttresses the need to empower them by enrolling the girl child in school.

“Education of a girl child is key because she’s a mother.

"An educated mother would bring up her children and her family well.

"She will ensure her children go to school, be it a boy or a girl.

"Education is the greatest asset that can lead to meaningful development in Nigeria.

"Without education nothing will work.

"I call on all well-meaning Nigerians to support the education of the child-child, to support the education of every child and to support the government to ensure that no child is left behind.”
