Seventeen People Were Reported Dead In Grisly Road Accident In Tanzania.
Seventeen people died on the spot and 12 others were critically injured in a freak road accident on Saturday, February 4, 2023, in Korogwe, Tanga region, Tanzania.
According to Tanga Regional Commissioner Omary Mgumba, the tragedy featured a collision of two vehicles, resulting in several deaths.
A Mitsubishi Fuso truck and a bus carrying a dead body from Dar es Salaam to Moshi with 26 people on board were among the vehicles involved in the accident.
The bodies have been kept at the Korogwe district hospital mortuary, and relatives are now attempting to identify the deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the truck driver's irresponsible driving caused the incident, as he attempted to overtake another vehicle before slamming head-on with the Coaster.
