Taraba Boat Mishap: Police Recovers Seven Bodies

Police in Taraba says it has recovered seven more corpses from the recent boat mishap in the state.

According to Daily Post, the Taraba police Command which issued the statement could not verify the number of passengers in the boat.

Residents of the state were on Saturday thrown into mourning following the boat accident which occured in Mayoranewo village of Ardo Kola local government council.

The boat which took off from Mayoranewo Market in Ardo Kola council, was said to have been heading to Karim Lamido, a nearby council, when it capsized on reaching Binnari village waterway.

“Currently, seven corpses have been recovered,” the statement by the Taraba State Police Command said.

“On receipt of the information, Taraba State Police Command immediately deployed operatives of the Marine Police to the area in collaboration with the local divers and fishermen residing at the river bank.”

The Command said the search to rescue those alive and recover the corpses of the drowned passengers is still ongoing.
