The Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, has slammed members of the National Assembly from the state for claiming federal government projects as their personal projects.
The governor who spoke today (Monday) while briefing press men in Jalingo said it was sad to see lawmakers claiming projects by the federal government instead of their own.
Lamenting over the issue, he said: "It’s been observed that some executing agencies have been used over the years for the execution and implementation of federal government constituency projects in Taraba State for certain senatorial districts and federal constituencies, notwithstanding their previous budget performance as it was poorly executed, unspecified, abandoned or even nonexistent.”
He further stated that it was necessary for stakeholders to warn such representatives who claim projects they have not executed as theirs.
"The state government has observed that certain zonal intervention projects and consolidated capital projects are seen by Tarabans as individual projects rather than federal government constituency projects that they truly are.
"The conceptualisation of government project interventions as individual efforts has become worrisome to the state government.
”The players are our supposed representatives who have cornered our sovereign wealth to become theirs," he added.
