Veteran Nigerian singer Femi Kuti has opened up on the beatings he had to endure in school because of his father, Fela Kuti’s activism.
According to him, school was depressing because some teachers that do not like his father punished him.
“I’ve had many low points o!” Kuti said.
“School was a very depressing time for me because there were the teachers that liked him and the teachers that didn’t like him.
“So, if I got into trouble with a teacher that didn’t like him, that teacher will beat me because they didn’t like my father.”
Kuti mentioned those elite children in the same school as he didn’t like him either because of his father.
“Then there were the rich children in the same school, and they didn’t like me because I was Fela’s son.
He added that he got into fights most of the time in school.
