Meta Launches Startup Incubator To Advance Metaverse In India

Social media giant, Meta has teamed with the Indian IT Ministry’s startup hub to introduce an accelerator in the nation to promote innovation in cutting-edge technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality.

According to officials on Tuesday, the social media giant said that the XR Startup Program, a collaboration between MeitY Startup Hub and Meta is expected to assist 40 early-stage entrepreneurs with product and service development as well as research and development. Walmart Develops Virtual Try-On Tech For Customers To Model Clothing

Global retail store Walmart is extending its support for AI-driven virtual try-on technology dubbed "Be Your Own Model," which enables customers to use their own images to see how apparel appears on them instead of selecting one of the available fashion models.

Customers of the company site could previously choose from dozens of models to choose the one that most closely resembled them in order to view how clothing would likely seem on their own body and with their own skin tone across a range of apparel products.  Read more here.

As part of a White House summit on preventing hate-motivated violence, major tech companies pledged on Thursday to take new actions to combat online extremism by eliminating more harmful content and encouraging media literacy among young users.
