Nigerian singer and songwriter Augustine Miles Kelechi a.k.a. Tekno has revealed that he enjoys the process of making music.

According to him on the ‘Afrobeats Intelligence’ podcast, he creates songs and gives them to other artistes because he thinks it fits them.

Tekno said that he does that because he likes to see everybody win.

“I used to go to the club like I’m crazy. Coz I know that if you are in the club you know what is playing.

“So then when I used to go to the club, I can hear music and be like if I make something like this, it’s going to fit this person, or if I make something like this it’s going to fit this person.

“Because I’m someone that I like to see everybody win. It’s sweet when there are more of us on top.”

Speaking further, he said that he does not care about giving his songs to others as long as he feels the song is good for them.

“When someone asks me; ‘why would you give this song to this person? It’s not like you even collected anything for it.

“I don’t care. Maybe if I recorded it, it won’t go. I know it’s going to fit this person. It’s like; ‘come, take.

"This thing is going to fit you, here is that song.

“I enjoy the process of doing that and seeing it become a success.”

Tekno mentioned that there was a point when he had the repeated routine of going to the club and then heading back home to create music.

He, however, got tired of doing that because there are some things one does not want to do anymore when one starts to make money.

“Then I was buried in the club. Every nightclub, from club to the house, create. So it was back-to-back.

“I was in a constant loop of just recreating and learning and recreating. So it’s like beast mode. It was a crazy beast mode.

“After a while, I kinda got tired of that. You know you start to make a lot of money and there are some things you don’t want to just do anymore.”
