1. O. R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa 

The best airport in Africa is O.R. Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) in Johannesburg.

O.R. Tambo handles more than 17 million passengers per year, and recent infrastructure upgrades mean that the airport can currently accommodate up to 28 million passengers per year. It is simply Africa's largest and busiest airport.

The South African Airports Company manages O.R. Tambo International Airport, which serves airlines from five continents (ACSA).

The airport is named in honour of one of South Africa's greatest founding fathers, Oliver Reginald Tambo, also known as O.R. to his peers.

 

2. Cairo International Airport, Cairo, Egypt
