Ten Hag Unsure About Rashford's Return For Run-In Games

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he is unsure about when Marcus Rashford will return for the club's run-in games having been ruled out with a muscle injury.

The English international sustained the injury during United's 2-0 win to Everton on Saturday and was substituted with 10 minutes left on the clock at Old Trafford.

A statement from United on Wednesday revealed that he "will be unavailable for a few games, but is expected to be back for the season run-in."

The club expressed their "disappointment" over his absence due to "his red-hot form this season" while noting that the forward won't feature in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League quarter-final game against Sevilla.

Ahead of Thursday's clash, United's gaffer was quizzed on the date Rashford will return and his reply was that he had no idea when the England striker, who has scored 28 goals for the Red Devils this season, will return.

“A few games, so that's the statement," a coy Ten Hag said.

"I can't give more details on it because we don't know.

"We'll have to see it how it develops."

With Rashford ruled out for a few games, there is a possibility that Anthony Martial would be brought in as his replacement.

Although, the Dutch coach has maintained that he doesn't want to force things on the Frenchman.

"We don't have to force things. We are careful. The front line against Everton worked really well.

"I think he [Martial] is ready to start games but, as I said, the front line against Brentford did very well and we decided to continue that against Everton.

"The advantage would be to bring back Anthony Martial slowly and get him used to playing at the highest level, in the highest intensity, but against Everton, he did well," he added.
