Ten Persons Missing Following Boat Mishap In Kenya

Ten Persons were Missing After the Boat Capsized.

At least 10 people including six Italian tourists are missing after a boat they were in capsized off the Garoda beach in Watamu, Kilifi, Kenya on Saturday.

After the Saturday morning incident, police and Kenya Wildlife Service officials said rescue attempts were still underway.

When the boat overturned, it was carrying around 40 tourists, both Italians and Kenyans.

When the event occurred, they were among those following the dolphins, which was one of the goals of the marine safari in the region.

Others familiar with the activities reported that an unknown number of Kenyans drowned while the Italians made it to land in different boats.

"Six Italian tourists have not yet returned but should be on board another tourist boat," the officials said.

“The six Italian tourists would be on another boat that set to see the dolphins.”

Other close boats rushed to the scene of the incident and picked up the injured, but some Kenyans were unable to board.

The region features some of Kenya's most well-known beaches, which are popular with both local and foreign tourists.
