Imo State Records Surge In COVID-19 Cases, 38 Reported In A

There has been panic in Imo State following the upsurge in Coronavirus cases as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) released figures of 38 cases on Tuesday, November 16.

Since the aftermath of the released report, citizens of the state have been in fear and moving with caution as Imo recorded the highest number among other states. The NCDC reported that Plateau State was second in figures as they recorded 20 cases. Lagos came third with 17 and Abuja had 16.

According to the NCDC, since Nigeria’s COVID-19 index case was recorded last year, the number stands at 213,321. While 206,206 have been discharged and a total of 2,973 deaths have been recorded.

Many Nigerians have been living without the urge to adhere to the COVID-19 safety precautions as most people ignore the measures, such as wearing of facemasks, repeated washing of hands, and the use of hand sanitisers
