Terrorists Attack Katsina Community, Kill DPO

A police officer has been killed in an attack on Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State by terrorists.

The officer simply identified as Deputy Superintendent of Police Rano was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Magama Police Division.

The attack took place on Wednesday morning in an ambush by the terrorists.

Reports revealed that the DPO was leading a police squad to repel invasion by the terrorists before his death.

As reported by Leadership newspaper, a credible source revealed that "The DPO was killed immediately while some of the police officers were wounded. An Army officer, who is in charge of the soldiers stationed in Jibia, was also part of the convoy that escaped with gunshots."

Magama is a community in Jibithe a Local Government Area of Katsina State bordering the Niger Republic.

While an official statement has not been made by the state police command in Katsina State, the spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isa confirmed the report.
