Tesla Charging Stations
EV maker, Tesla has taken extra steps to minimize the long lines experienced during the Christmas travel period at Supercharger stations by introducing free Supercharging at some stations during off-peak hours (7 PM to 10 AM local time) between December 23 and December 26.
Tesla stated that the stations tend to be near major routes and urban centers, and are limited to 11 states including California, Nevada and Pennsylvania.
The introduction of free charging during these hours is relatively new, though, and might entice owners willing to leave early (or late) to save recharging costs.
Tesla opened 10 EV Superchargers stations located in Sassenheim, Apeldoorn Oost, Meerkerk, Hengelo, Tilburg, Duiven, Breukelen, Naarden, Eemnes and Zwolle and can be accessed by the people living in the country and have installed the Tesla app on their phone (version 4.2.3 or later) and it can be used to charge their cars, allnews reported.
The new promo for minimizing the long lines experienced during the Christmas travel periods underscores a growing problem for Tesla: its Supercharger network is straining to handle an ever-larger customer base.
