TG Omori
Nigerian music video director TG Omori took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the future of music video royalties.
In a tweet on Thursday night, he stated that in due time, music video directors will receive at least 10% of the streaming income from every music video they direct.
According to him, this is a way to acknowledge their moral contribution to the visuals.
He added that when this happens, he will finally be able to get his dream island and private jets.
“In due time music video directors will be getting at least 10% royalties from the streaming income of every music video directed for their moral contribution to the visuals.
“With this I can successfully buy my dream island and private jets,” TG Omori tweets.
Due time fit be next week sha. Mafo

TG Omori's tweet about the future of music video royalties was met with mixed reactions, with some expressing support for the idea while others questioning the director's worth and calling his request for 10% in royalties greedy.
TG Omori saying he would be getting 10% royalties from the streaming income of the videos he shoots is weird and greedy!

after they’ve paid for the video, 10% royalties again? 10% is too small, take 100%. Mtchewww
I don’t have problem with what TG Omori said about directors collecting royalties from the video they shoot for artistes. I just want him to implement it and see how it goes. Seeing is believing especially in this Nigerian music industry. Let’s see if it’s achievable or not.

Editor should also get 10%
Producer deserves 10%
Back up singers too should be given 10%
Since you all contributed to the project, you deserve money for ur works and also 10% off the music
TG Omori you be thief, ripper ni e https://t.co/bijqezRPwh
Producers would charge you for the music, and obviously 50% on the publishing sheets, song writers and all other contributors to the music go share the remaining 50%, Record label go take their cut for the masters, producers even take 20% on the masters, TG omori wetin remain? ?
