Thanks To Security Agencies, Oil Theft Has Significantly Dec

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari stated on Tuesday that cooperation with security agencies has drastically limited the scope of oil theft in the Niger Delta following the discovery of multiple Illegal Pipes.

Kyari made the remark during his speech on the second day of the PENGASSAN Energy and Labour Summit.

He continued by expressing confidence that the nation will have more access to oil – and income – in the upcoming weeks.

The CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Gbenga Komolafe noted in his keynote address at the summit that the gas flare commercialisation initiative has been revived in accordance with the country's objective to net-zero carbon emissions.

The NUPRC also made a hint that it will soon start mini-bids for seven offshore gas blocks in order to boost the country's earnings and improve domestic gas usage.

Festus Osifo, the national president of PENGASSAN, stated that political leaders must lower the cost of governance before requesting sacrifices from Nigerians.
