'The Matrix Resurrections' Is Beautiful, Weird — Co-Writer

David Mitchell, a co-writer of the upcoming film The Matrix Resurrections, has called it "beautiful and weird".

The fourth film in the action franchise is set to arrive in movie cinemas on December 22, 2021, and Mitchell opened up about the production in a recent interview with To Vima via ScreenRant.

"I saw the film in Berlin in September. It's really good. I cannot tell you what this film is about, but I could explain what it is not", he said.

"It's certainly not yet one more sequel, but something autonomous that contains the three Matrix that preceded in a really ingenious way.

"It's a very beautiful and weird creation. It also achieved a couple of things that we do not see in action films, meaning it subverts the rules of blockbusters", Mitchell added.

Fans of the Matrix films know that if there is one thing that has differentiated it from other action blockbusters, it's the way executes everything in a peculiar and artistic way.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss return as Neo and Trinity in a story that is "an expansion of their story that ventures back into the Matrix and even deeper down the rabbit hole."
