Marc Wilmore, one of the writers of the Fox animated comedy series, The Simpsons, has died after a long battle with COVID-19 and other health issues at age 57.
His brother and comedian, Larry Wilmore, confirmed the death via his verified Twitter account.
He wrote, “My sweet sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night while battling COVID and other conditions that have had him in pain for many years. My brother was the kindest, gentlest, funniest, lion of an angel I’ve ever known. I love you little brother.”

Marc started out his career as a sketch comedy writer in the early ‘90s on the sketch show ‘Living Colour.’ His work on Living Colour earned him a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
After his stint on In Living Colour, he became a writer on The ‘Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ and then The PJs before joining The Simpsons writing staff in 2002
He wrote 12 episodes of animated comedy series between 2002 and 2015.
