There Are Many Ungovernable Spaces In Nigeria – Buratai

The immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, has said that there are many ungovernable spaces in Nigeria and that is why there is widespread insecurity, the General said Thursday.

Buratai, who retired in January, made the comment during his ambassadorial position screening at the National Assembly.

The retired General lamented that terrorists have penetrated the Nigerian society and won several communities to their side.

According to him, the solution requires a multi-pronged approach, noting that military warfare alone cannot solve the problem.

He added that the government must provide infrastructure in infiltrated communities so as to win people over to its side. He stressed that it will take another 20 years to resolve the current crisis confronting the country.
