Renowned Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy, also known as the ‘Area Fada’, has said that only two tribes exist in Nigeria — the politicians and the people.
According to his tweet which was written by Doris Udensi, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds, both groups experience the effects of corruption, insecurity, and poverty.
Udensi notes that while the masses endure the consequences of economic hardships, the political class indulges in the misappropriation of public funds and unjustifiably raises their salaries by 114%.
According to the tweet, the removal of fuel subsidies, increased electricity tariffs, rising gas prices, and soaring school fees further burden the average Nigerian.
The continuous devaluation of the Naira adds to the financial struggles faced by the masses, while the political elite continues to live a life detached from the realities of ordinary citizens.
Udensi expresses concern that Nigerians are being made to bear the brunt of these circumstances, while the political class enjoys a lavish lifestyle at their expense.
By sharing Udensi’s post, Charly Boy aims to amplify the message and draw attention to the stark disparities that exist in Nigeria.
Fuel subsidy removed. Electricity tariff increased. Prices of gas increased. School fees have gone up. Naira is perpetually down. The take-home pay of the masses is nothing to write home about, yet the political class thinks it wise to raise their salaries by 114%.
