Third Batch Of Nigerians In Sudan To Arrive On Saturday

The Spokesperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abdulrahman Balogun, has revealed that the third batch of Nigerian evacuees from Sudan are due to arrive in Nigeria today.

The update comes after the commission disclosed that rescue efforts to get the remaining Nigerians in the war-ravaged country would begin soon.

The first set of 376 Nigerians arrived in Nigeria from Egypt on Wednesday night, the second batch of evacuees numbering 130 landed on Friday, and the third batch comprising 132 will reportedly be in the country on Saturday.

Balogun shared that the Tarco aircraft took off at 7.20 am Sudanese local time from Port Sudan with 132 Nigerian nationals; 124 adults and eight infants.

“The seven hours flight is expected to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 1.30-2 pm.

“The plane is to have a one-hour stopover at Juba, South Sudan”, he added.
