Three Become Readers In Gashua Varsity

Three senior academics have been promoted to Readers by the Council of Governing Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Yobe State

Dr Mathias Ojo, Sociology Department, Dr Yunus Hassan, Department of Islamic studies, and Dr Adekoyeni Oludare, Home Science and Management of the university have been approved as Readers.

The promotion is contained in a statement by the institution's Head, Information and Protocol Unit, Alhaji Adamu Saleh, in Gashua on Friday.

According to the statement, the senior academics were promoted after the receipt of a positive external assessment report on them.

The protocol head added that the promotion of 89 other academics to various ranks, 129 senior non-teaching staff and 24 junior staff was also approved.

The promotion, according to Saleh was approved at the council’s 23rd Regular meeting held on Thursday.

He noted that the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Maimuna Waziri, on behalf of the council and school management congratulated the staff for the merited promotions.

Waziri advised the members of staff to justify their promotion by staying committed to their job.
