The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Command has revealed that three persons have lost their lives in an accident that occurred on the Osogbo-Ilobu highway.
The Sector Commander, Henry Benamaisia, said this in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, on Thursday in Osogbo.
Benamasia said that the accident happened around Ojutu bridge on Ilobu highway today (Thursday) claiming the lives of two males and a female while five others were severely injured.
He said that a white Mazda commercial vehicle lost control of its brake due to excessive speeding without any recourse to be safety conscious.
"Three persons lost their lives in the lone accident while the remaining five others have been taken to Osun State Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
"We commend other security sisters agencies for their prompt response to include the Nigeria Police and Vigilante group with the O- O-Ambulance services," Benamaisia said.
According to him, three cell phones were recovered in the process and handed over to the Police.
Benamaisia warned motorists to drive with safety consciousness within the stipulated speed limit to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the state.
