Three people have been killed, with houses burnt after a violent skirmish between Tiv farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Pangari village, Taraba State.
A resident of the Bali Local Government Area where the clash happened narrated the story to a PUNCH correspondent, explaining that a beans farm that belonged to Mr Dooior James, a beans farmer in the village had been raided, and while Mr James sought to be compensated for the loss of his crops, a herder brandished his machete and struck James dead.
The resident by the name Gura also said that when word of the death of James got to his brothers, they marshalled their team of avengers and killed the Fulani man who had earlier taken James' life, worsening the situation.

According to the narrator, Gura, "On the same day (Sunday), about 6:pm, the brothers of the Fulani man, who was killed also mobilised and attacked the village of the farmer, killing one person and setting so many houses ablaze."
Caretaker Chairman of Bali Local Government Council, Prince Musa Mahmood, confirmed the incident saying that three people died from the event, although, after the intervention of security officials sent to the area, calm was restored.
