Officers of the Nigerian Army have neutralised three suspected herdsmen in the Tsehombe-Adaka village in Benue State.
This was disclosed by the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, John Enenche on Monday to Channels Television.
Enenche said that the troops of Sector One from the Operation WHIRL STROKE formation were alerted by members of a local vigilante group of an attack by invaders suspected to be herdsmen.
Following the alert, the troops were marshalled to the location and a "shoot-out" ensued between the troops and the armed herdsmen.
He said, “Troops of Sector one, Operation WHIRL STROKE, yesterday, 6 December 2020 responded to a distress call from Local vigilante members reporting an ongoing attack by suspected armed herdsmen on Tsehombe-Adaka village,” the statement partly read.

“Troops immediately mobilized to the location leading to a shoot-out between troops and armed bandits.
“The gallant troops overwhelmed the bandits by superior firepower, following which troops successfully neutralised 3 of the armed bandits while others escaped with gunshot wounds.”
Enenche urged members of the public to support the army by providing credible intelligence.
