It's Thursday and we do a throwback to when 'The Weapon Of Mass Destruction' Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins, then aged 19 made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in that year's Unity Cup scoring the second goal, in the tri-nations Unity Cup tournament in London.
AllNews reports that the Republic of Ireland was Martins' first casualty as the Inter Milan legend went on to net 19 times in 48 appearances for the African giants (he is fifth on the list of Super Eagles all-time top goalscorers).
Martins took the ball at the halfway line, ran 30 yards, tricked two defenders, and then shot the ball home with the outside of his left foot.
He said: "I feel great [scoring goals] because as a striker you need to score, and that is why I do everything possible just to get a goal."
