A well-known political thug has been arrested at the venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Oyo North Senatorial District primary election.
The thug who is popularly known as 'Weere' was arrested at the Iseyin APC primary election by operatives of the Oyo State Joint Security Task Force code-named Operation Burst earlier on Sunday.
Reports indicate that 'Weere' and his gang allegedly attacked Shina Peller, a House of Representatives member who is also an aspirant in the race.
It was also alleged that they had attacked Peller with the intention to disrupt the voting process.
On the attempt, security forces swung into action arresting the thugs.
Eyewitnesses stated that political memorabilia of one of the political candidate of the Oyo APC was found in the vehicles used by the thugs
