Timo Werner Returns To Leipzig In £15M Loss To Chelsea

Timo Werner Leaves Chelsea For RB Leipzig

German forward Timo Werner has completed a permanent move back to RB Leipzig as confirmed by reports in Germany.

Werner 26 will sign a fee of £25.3m (€30m) plus bonuses to return to Germany after the Blues paid his £45M release clause to sign him in 2020 -- a £15M loss to Chelsea.

He has not been able to replicate his goalscoring form, although he has maintained his dangerous runs into the box.

In his 2-year stay at Stamford Bridge, Werner only managed 10 goals in all competitions for Chelsea.

A move he might regret but not without its ups as he returns to Germany a Champions League winner, something he wouldn't have been able to if he had stayed in Leipzig.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Werner as he won't be seeing a lot of old folks at Leipzig including coach Julian Nagelsmann who is now at Bayern Munich.
