Timothy Adegoke: Osun Court Adjourns Case To December

An Osun High Court in Osogbo has adjourned to December 1 and 2 the case concerning Rahman Adedoyin and six others alleged with murdering Timothy Adegoke.

The adjournment was handed down on Monday so as to allow for the amended charges to be filed.

Rahman Adedoyin and the six other defendants are alleged to have murdered Timothy Adegoke, an Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife postgraduate student in November 2021 inside his hotel room in Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife.

The prosecution counsel, Femi Falana was granted leave to amend his charges.

The 18 charges were read and Adedoyin pleaded not guilty to the charges with the six others.

The six others facing murder charges are Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Florence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola.

Justice Adepele Ojo who gave the ruling said she was inquisitive to finished the case and to ensure justice took the center stage despite rumours in some quarters about the proceedings of the court .

”I am not desperate to jail anyone but desperate to conclude the case with utmost despatch.

”Also, i prefer to borrow money if I am in need rather than taking any bribe and will never do so, as i am contented .

“If there is anyone who collected any money on my behalf, the person should please return it.”Timothy Adegoke and Rahman Adedoyin

Justice Adepele Ojo had in the last sitting threatened to grant some defendants bail if the principal suspect, Raheem Adedoyin was not brought to court after several adjourments

Also, all the defendants had earlier pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, murder, attempted felony, unlawful interference with a dead body, altering and intent to destroy evidence.

Their case file number: HOS/5C/2022, dated Feb. 14, 2022 and filed on February 17, 2022, had earlier been substituted with HOS/5C/ 2022, dated February 22, 2022 and filed on March 2, 2022.
