Tinubu Hasn't Told Me About Any Appointment — Wike

Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that President Bola Tinubu has not informed him of any political appointment.

Wike has been the subject of criticism following the 2023 presidential election where many allege that he manipulated the results of his region in favour of Tinubu.

Naturally, those with knowledge of the nation's politics expect that Wike would be given a reward for his alleged actions.

But addressing such speculations, Wike who said he has not been told about any appointment added that he is not too big to serve his country.

He said if he is asked by the President, he will in turn ask his wife and friends to get their opinion on the issue.

“I’m going to rest; I have worked for eight years, so I’m going to rest.

“Tinubu has not informed me about getting an appointment; I’m not too big to serve my country, but he has never told me that he would give me an appointment.

“If he asks me, the first thing I will do is ask my wife and friends what they think about it.

“I will also assess myself if I’m prepared. I will never do what I’m not ready for.”
