Tite Leaves As Brazil National Team Coach After World Cup Exit

Tite has left his post as the head coach of Brazil's national team after a World Cup exit to Croatia on penalties on Friday.

Either he was sacked or resigned, it is yet to be known but he said during the post-match interview.

After the game, Tite told the press: "As I said, my cycle is over. I said it over a year and a half ago. I'm a man of my word."

Previously, he had said: "I'm going until the end of the World Cup. I have no reason to lie here. I don't want to win anyway. I've won everything in my career, the only thing missing is the World Cup.

On Friday, Brazil looked to be a semifinalist already until a late goal from Petrovic cancelled Neymar's record goal.

The strike took the Paris Saint-Germain's winger levelled with Pele.

On penalties, Dominik Livakovic became the hero as he saved Rodrygo's kick and Pedro hit the ball against the post to give Croatia a clear path into the semifinals.

Tite in June 2016 was announced as the head coach of Brazil national team. He won the Copa America in 2019 and while he managed clubs -- he won several other trophies but he leave without a World Cup accolade.
