Following the conviction of Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Alade Brown, also known as Akuapem Poloo, for posing nude in a photoshoot with her seven-year-old son, people have been campaigning for her release or a reduction in the 90 days jail term handed to her.
Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, through her Instagram has joined the list of people calling for Poloo to be freed. She called on Ghanian authorities to temper justice with mercy as a mother should not be away from her young child for three months.

Dikeh acknowledged that Poloo's action was morally wrong but not enough to warrant sentencing her to jail.
Poloo's supposed 'twin sister' Cardi B also reacted to her jail sentence. In a tweet she shared, Cardi B said that she has seen similar photoshoots in the United States, and giving Akuapem Poloo jail term is a harsh judgment. She opined that social media probation or community service would have been a better option.
AllNews reports that Akuapem Poloo stirred reactions on the social media community on June 30, 2020, after posing nude with her son to mark his birthday.
In the picture, she posed nude while squatting, with her son standing right in front of her with underwear.
Justifying her action in the caption, she wrote “I’m naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere don’t pass by me but rather see me as your mom who brought you to life. Happy birthday to you @sonof_poloo”
